Today was our village’s vide-grenier (bric-a-brac /garage sale). As it was going to be a long day, I decided to take my wheel out to the garage and do my Tour de Fleece spinning there. Spinning in public was a first for me. Several neighbours and passers-by came to watch and it was good to share my passion for fibre arts, even in my halting French.
One neighbour returned later in the day with a beautiful gift – some flax from the north of France. The texture of the fibre is very different from anything I’ve handled so far. I’ve wanted to spin flax for some time; it will be an interesting challenge.
